The Kompong Plok people have this ability to change, mutate, adapt their habits in a few days without transition and go from terrestrial to water mode, simply ... naturally ... Six months on the solid ground, and six months living on boats and life in the village transitions as if nothing had changed.
Peak Kantel moves, along with its boat-houses and lush draught of fishes, along the currents of Lake Tonle Sap. The village migrates nine times in the year in various parts of the lake in a slow progression, under angry skies or sometimes arrowing a peaceful silence. In the rainy season, during high tides, the inhabitants take refuge on the outskirts of a dense forest, home to one of the most diverse ornithological fauna in the world, to protect themselves against the swell and the wind.

The fund raised for these villages has allowed to aquire pirogues to bring their children to the floating school and has also helped renovate some of the damaged houses
